Netanya Clixby is a Partner in Simpson Thacher’s European Finance and Capital Markets group, with a focus on derivatives and structured products. She advises on the structuring and negotiation of derivatives and other trading documentation, including securities lending and prime brokerage agreements, and provides related regulatory advice. She advises across a range of asset classes, and has experience advising on structured products, including repurchase agreements and significant risk transfer transactions (SRTs).

Netanya’s experience includes advising on finance-linked interest rate and cross-currency hedging in connection with corporate, project finance and real estate credit facilities, as well as fund-level derivatives lines and risk management agreements for portfolio management of interest rate and FX risk. She also advises on deal-contingent forwards and swaps to hedge risks associated with acquisitions, dispositions and financings, in addition to European and U.K. trading regulation, including EMIR and SFTR.

During her career she’s been seconded to an international investment bank, supporting its ABS and structured finance teams, and has also worked in the legal team of a quantitative finance research company, with a focus on algorithmic trading strategies.

Netanya received her M.B.A. from BPP University Business School in 2018. She received her Graduate Diploma in Law from BPP University Law School in 2014 and her M.A. from the University of St Andrews in 2011.

Netanya has been recognized by Financial News as a “Pride of Finance Rising Star” (2026) and among the title’s “Rising Stars of Legal Services” (2023). She was also named a Legal 500 U.K. “Leading Associate” for Derivatives and Structured Products (2025) and a “Rising Star” in the same category (2024) and was the winner of the “Rising Star” category at Law.com International’s Women, Influence & Power in Law U.K. Awards (2024).
